Women and Girls Charter
The Cottesloe Football Club is proud to be one of the first Women and Girls Charter Club’s in the PFL.
Signing the Charter represents a clear commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for women and girls at every level of our club. It reflects our belief that football should be accessible, safe, and rewarding for everyone who wants to be involved, whether as a player, coach, volunteer, or supporter.
This commitment is grounded in action. As a club, we have worked together to identify practical steps that strengthen female participation, leadership, and visibility within Cottesloe. These actions are designed to ensure our women’s program is not treated as an add-on, but as a core and valued part of the Roosters community.
What this means at Cottesloe
Being a Charter Club means we are actively working to:
Increase female representation in leadership and decision-making roles across the club
Improve the visibility and experience of women’s football on game day
Strengthen pathways from junior girls football through to senior women’s teams
Support female coaches and leaders to grow within our program
Reduce barriers to participation, including for women with family commitments
Ensure women’s teams are treated fairly in access to facilities and scheduling
These commitments are captured in our Women and Girls Action Plan, which sets out clear actions, responsibilities, and measures of success for the 2026 season and beyond Cottesloe Amateur Football Club….
Women’s Program – Cottesloe x Mosman Park
This season marks an important step forward for our women’s program, with Cottesloe and Mosman Park coming together to build something stronger as one.
At its core, this is about creating more opportunity. More players, more support, and a better environment for everyone involved. By bringing the two groups together, we’re able to offer greater depth, stronger coaching resources and a more sustainable pathway for women’s football at the club.
It hasn’t just been a logistical move. There’s been a genuine effort from both sides to build something that reflects the best of each club. The connection to community, the competitiveness, and the way people show up for each other. That’s been clear from day one.
We see this as a long-term play. Something that gives current players a better experience now, while also creating a stronger foundation for those coming through in the years ahead.
It’s a new chapter, and one we’re proud to be building together.
More than a statement
For Cottesloe, the Charter is not a one-off signing or a marketing exercise. It is an ongoing commitment that aligns with our club values and shapes how we plan, invest, and make decisions.
We believe actions speak louder than words. Our focus is on building a women’s and girls program where players feel supported, opportunities are real, and participation continues to grow year on year.
Whether you are new to football, returning to the game, or looking to contribute off the field, Cottesloe is committed to providing a club environment where women and girls can thrive.
